Norfolk State University, in partnership with Inspired Consulting Group, will host a social work exam prep class for clinical-level test-takers. 

 

      When: February 24 & 25, 2024

      9:00 am - 5:00 pm each day

 

      Where: Norfolk State University, Norfolk, VA

                  Brown Hall - Room 230

Who should take this class?

This course is geared towards equipping participants with the skills necessary to sit for the clinical / advanced level exams (LICSW, LISW, LCSW-C, etc.).

Topics that we will cover include, but are not limited to: 

-An Overview of the Composition of the Exam

-Exam Taking Strategies & Special Accommodations

-Social Work Assessment & Diagnosis

-Social Work Intervention Strategies

-Psycho-pharmacology

-Human Behavior, Growth and Development Issues

-Social Work Ethics, Research and Supervision

-Child Welfare and Gerontology

-Addiction, Domestic Violence and Family Dynamics

-Self Regulation and Relaxation Skills  

 

The class will be taught by Corey Beauford, LICSW, LCSW-C. Mr. Beauford has taught exam prep class for the University of Maryland, the University of South Carolina, Morgan State University, the Catholic University of America, as well as the Maryland, DC Metro, Delaware, and Iowa Chapters of the National Association of Social Workers.

The course fee is $100.00. The first 15 registrants will receive a printed version of our comprehensive exam prep manual. All other registrants will receive an electronic copy of our manual.
